The Museum of Arsenyev History is one of the most interesting cultural spaces of Primorye, where the history of the city and the rich heritage of the entire region are presented in a lively and modern format. Founded in 1969, the museum houses an impressive collection of items related to the development of the Far East, the nature of Sikhote Alin and the life of local residents for more than a hundred years.
The expositions acquaint guests with the transformation of the small village of Semyonovka into a dynamic city of Arsenyev, tell about the role of the aviation plant during the Great Patriotic War, about the life of the first settlers and the traditional culture of the indigenous peoples of Primorye. A special place is occupied by materials about the famous traveler Vladimir Klavdievich Arsenyev and his expeditions, as well as about the world film adaptation of "Dersu Uzala", filmed by Akira Kurosava.
Separate halls are dedicated to the nature of the region: here you can see the collections of plants and insects of Sikhote-Alin, get acquainted with rare species of animals and feel the atmosphere of this taiga. Interactive elements and reconstructions, including the peasant hut of the early XX century, make visiting the museum interesting for both adults and children.
