This is the most accessible of all the island objects of the Vladivostok fortress (in total, 6 forts and 27 coastal batteries were built on Russky).

Construction of the battery began in 1898 and was completed in 1902. About 180 thousand rubles were spent on construction. The Novosiltsev battery consists of six 6-inch Cane guns and two 57-mm Nordenfeld guns.

The battery was restored ahead of the APEC summit. At the moment, it belongs to the objects of the State United Museum-Reserve of the History of the Far East named after V.K. Arsenyev.
