Educational project "School of young guide"
>About the project
"The Young Guide School" is a social project for children aimed at teaching schoolchildren and students the basics of excursion studies. Children learn to understand the city, see its history in architecture, streets, landscape and ships. The school helps interested children to better understand the profession of a guide and develop their skills of tour guide.
The project provides an opportunity not only to increase the professional self-determination of the project participants, but also to form an idea of the Primorsky Territory as a region with a rich, eventful history and unique cultural traditions. The school helps participants in the education of aesthetic and moral potential, popularization of patriotism, artistic taste, intellectual and spiritual development and, including, increasing the tourist and social attractiveness of the region for guests and residents of the city.
"School of a young guide" gives an opportunity to try yourself in the profession of an assistant guide or guide in practice, immerse yourself in the basics of the tourism industry of the Primorsky Territory. Another important goal of the project is to study the history, local history information, cultural and natural heritage of the region.
The training program includes the study of the regulatory framework, work on communication with tourists, acquaintance with the history and tourist opportunities of our region. Individual author’s approach to the process of speakers helps listeners to master a large amount of material in an interactive form. A separate block studies aspects of the tour guide from interaction with the group to the development of their routes. Practical work on the existing excursion routes of Vladivostok is necessarily included.

About ten graduates of the School after graduation already work as guides. Several people try themselves in the profession of tour guide assistant, and also cooperate with the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit primorye) within the framework of the project .
