The Brynner Mansion is one of the most recognizable buildings in Vladivostok, built in 1913 by architect Georgy Junghendel. Brynner family history
Julius Brynner was a native of Switzerland, but moved to the Far East and became a Russian citizen. In the 1880s, he founded a trading company, and later, together with Andrey Kuznetsov, he opened the company Brinner, Kuznetsov and Co., engaged in port services and construction in Vladivostok.
It was in the mansion on Aleutskaya in 1920 that Yul Brynner was born - the future famous Hollywood actor. He became famous for his roles in film and theater, and his most famous work is the role of the King of Siam in the musical The King and I, for which he received an Oscar.
