Furugelm Island

The island is located in the southwest of Peter the Great Bay, near the border with the DPRK and 110 kilometers in a straight line from Vladivostok.
The island, similar to paradise, is rich in biodiversity and historical past.
From the 1930s to the 1960s, there was a garrison on the island, the number of which reached 600 people. The remnants of the battery No. 250 of the Khasan coastal defense sector from four 130-mm guns were preserved on the hill. They were installed here immediately after the Hasan events of 1938. This battery is the only object of the Vladivostok fortress, which took part in hostilities. In August 1945, these guns shelled the positions of the Kwantung Army, helping Soviet troops liberate Korea
Today, Furugelma Island is completely protected. Since 1978, the island has become part of the Far Eastern State Marine Reserve and is part of its southern sector: any economic activity is prohibited here. You can get to the island only as part of a tourist group that has permission to visit the protected area.
The island is interesting with subtropical flora, huge bird bazaars and subtropical species of marine animals, perfectly distinguishable in transparent water.
>>>>> How to get there: you can get to the island of Furugelma only through the Far Eastern Marine Reserve, and only for a few hours. Tours are also organized by Vladivostok travel companies. The route most often starts from the beach to the city. It will. On the way, the tour participants are told about the neighboring bays and islands, near Furugelm lies the border with the DPRK and China. The final point of the boat tour is the West Bay. From the outside, it may seem that you have arrived at the beach of the Dominican Republic or Thailand, but the Russian tricolor, fluttering on the shore, brings us back to reality.
The main rule of the island: you can see everything, but you can not touch. Everything that tourists bring with them should be taken away from the island.
