Monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union N.A. Ostryakov

The monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Ostryakov was opened on September 18, 2020 and installed in the park of his name.

Ostryakov, born on May 17, 1911, became commander of the Black Sea Fleet Air Force and became famous for heroism during the defense of Sevastopol. During his service, he made more than a hundred sorties, and under his command, pilots shot down more than three hundred enemy aircraft. Major-General died in April 1942, and his exploits were recognized posthumously awarding the title of Hero of the Soviet Union
