#80th anniversary of Victory

On May 8, 1975, a monument designed by architect V.G. Skorobogatov was unveiled in Polytechnic Square in memory of the students and faculty of the Far Eastern Polytechnic Institute who died in the Great Patriotic War. More than 500 Polytechnic students went to the front, and 257 never returned. This monument symbolizes their heroism and reminds the institute of its continuous work during the difficult war years. The names of the fallen are engraved on memorial plaques, commemorating their heroism.
