River Milogradovka
Lazovsky MO
The Milogradivka River is located in the Olginsky district of Primorsky Krai on the territory of the National Park "Call of the Tiger". Previously, the river was called Wang-Ching, which in Chinese means “the bend of the mountains”, but in 1972 it was renamed due to the armed conflict between China and the USSR over the island of Damansky. The river is formed from the confluence of four large streams: Direct (Coal), Kamensky (Stone), Long and Branch and flows into the Sea of Japan.

Milogradovka has a length of about 55 kilometers, and the area of its basin is 969 km. The river flows mainly in the canyon, which forms the surrounding rocks, reaching a height of up to 50 meters. This river is interesting because it has colorful rapids: pink and blue. This is due to the fact that the rocks surrounding the river have a bluish and pinkish color. This distinguishing feature is especially prominent in the Devil's Bridge tract. Also in some parts of the river there are rapids-chameleons, the color of which changes during the day depending on the lighting: from greenish-gray to fiery-red.

Due to the inaccessibility and complexity of the relief on the Milogradivka River, industrial felling did not occur, and there were no serious forest fires. Due to this, the nature of the river remained untouched, which allows the tourist to enjoy the real Ussuri taiga. The Milogradivka River is surrounded by a rich forest, which occupies almost 90% of the river basin. Here you can find cedars older than 400 years, poplar Maksimovich, larch, ilma, velvets, yews, as well as Mongolian oak, linden and Manchurian nut. On the banks of the river there are wild raspberries and many mushrooms, ash and lemongrass, lingonberries and red currants. In spring, on the coastal slopes of the Milogradovka River, rhododendron begins to bloom, decorating the river with pink and purple flowers. On the rock massifs grows the endemic of the south-western Sikhote-Alin - larch Olga.

The fauna of this amazing place is diverse. Many rare mammals live here. Residents of the forests surrounding the Milogradivka River are the Far Eastern forest cat, lynx, brown and Himalayan bear, mink, harza and the Amur tiger, as well as the boar, izubre, spotted deer, deer, goral, kabarga.
The largest waterfall of Primorsky Krai is also located on the Milogradovka River, water consumption is up to 2-3 cubic meters per second. There are at least 10 waterfalls on the tributaries of the river, including the highest waterfall in the Primorsky Territory, located in the Kamensky Key gorge, its height is 59 meters. The second highest waterfall on the Milogradivka river was the Snake Sting, its height reaches 43 meters.

Also on the bank of the river there is a mineral spring located 15 kilometers from the village of Listnoye.
The river flows through the territory of the Lazovsky Reserve - to visit these places you must first obtain permission in the village of Lazo. The most picturesque banks of the river are deep in the forest, and there is almost no possibility to reach by personal transport. Even passing cars can get bogged down in clay. In these places you should not go alone, you should be friends in case of an emergency. If something happens to the car, you will have to walk many kilometers to the nearest village for help. Travel companies, knowing all the nuances of these places, arrange tours on special cars that will definitely take you to the fields where you can camp. One day is also not enough for rest on Milogradovka - we recommend to think over the night.
