Svetlanskaya is the first street of Vladivostok, founded in the middle of the XIX century. Initially, it was called American, but in 1873 it was renamed in honor of the frigate "Svetlana", on which the Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich arrived in the city.

Svetlana Street combines ancient buildings of the late XIX - early XX century, modern business centers, museums and theaters. It is one of the main walking areas of the city and plays an important role in its cultural and business life.
