Exhibition "Women's Affairs"
New temporary exhibition in the House-Museum of the Sukhanov family, will tell about the women of the city of Vladivostok at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries. To date, a wide audience knows only a few facts about the life of women in that period. With the exception of the fate of noblewomen and peasant women, opinions about women in tsarist Russia remain largely unjustly forgotten. This applies both to the education of women and the protection of their rights, as well as to daily life and leisure. Women have made significant strides in establishing and organizing primary schools, businesses, gymnasiums and libraries.
The fate of famous secular lionesses, ordinary women tailors, weavers, as well as idealists, who aspired to education and work as doctors and teachers, did not go unnoticed in the Primorsky Territory. The exposition is aimed at bringing this distant era closer to the modern viewer, revealing different sides of the mysterious and poorly studied Women's Cause
