More than 2,000 people celebrated in Dalnegorsk the holiday “Smell-2024”

For two days in Dalnegorsk, residents and guests of the city celebrated the festival “Smell – 2024”. It was attended by more than 2000 people.

Dalnegorsk people hold this festival for the third time. And despite his “youth”, he managed to grow his traditions. One of them is fishing. 53 fishermen showed their skills: the youngest was barely six years old, the most respectable was 72 years old. As a result, in a couple of hours, fishermen caught 830 tails on Lake Vaskovskoye, the largest catch was 110 tails. In each group, three winners were determined, all received worthy prizes. The second day was devoted to gastronomy in different manifestations. 

In the mangal zone, "cooks" regardless of experience and status, 240 kilograms of smelt were put into the business. Everyone had their own recipe: ear, fried fish, brusketta with sprats, smelt with vegetables, fried, in crackers in tartar sauce, in crackers in West sauce, fried on coals, in foil with lemon, in kari, fried in a casket with homemade tomato sauce, baked on a grill with slices of lemon, pizza, etc. In total, the masters from the cafe “Yerevan”, “Victor and Company”, “Bukhara”, dining room “Prijor”, Dalnegorsk Industrial and Technological College prepared 2,300 servings of smelt for the guests of the holiday according to various recipes. In the same row with professionals stood the Chairman of the Duma Nikita Kharlamov and the head of the district Alexander Terebilov, they prepared a truly male dish: ear.

We hold the festival of smelt for three years. Although young, the event already has its own history. Dalnegorsk city district is a unique district with its sights. We have something to show our guests. We will continue to move in this direction. Not only residents of Primorye come to us, but also from other regions. Tourism is an industry that needs to be developed. And we are sure that relations with the regional Tourism Agency and the Tourist Information Center of Primorye will only be strengthened, Alexander Terebilov noted.

Gastronomic "lessons" from the pan-Asian restaurant ZUMA were interesting to guests. In the program of master classes, simply fried fish with a sauce based on cottage cheese and cucumber, he from fish with fern and fried fish with crunchy vegetables in a sweet-acute sauce were declared. For tasting, the restaurant cooks prepared 150 portions. If we talk about the guests of the holiday, then the atmosphere was enjoyed not only by the Dalgarians themselves. Guests from Vladivostok, Kavalerovo and Terney were spotted on the site.

It is very important to give local residents and guests of Dalnegorsk and the atmosphere of the holiday, and tourist diversity. The smelt festival became a kind of motivation for the appearance of other events in the district event calendar, such as the celebration of Shrovetsa and Ivan Kupala Day in a new format or the SUP festival. This gives an opportunity not only to come to visit, but also to express themselves to the local business community. We note that the event was held as part of the Year of the Family, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin for 2024. Families showed their unity both during fishing and during cooking, not to mention just relaxing.
