Primorsky schoolchildren on gastro lessons learned the basics of delicious fast food

Fast food has long been an integral part of our daily lives. Teenagers respect him for the speed of cooking, the speed of serving and the opportunity to have a snack on the go. But so that your favorite fast food does not harm, it is enough to take high-quality and natural products, maintain a balance of fats, carbohydrates. It was a delicious fast food and was dedicated to the gastronomic master class, which was held in Nadezhdinsky district at the eighth graders of the educational center "Format".

The prelude to the gastronomic lesson was a small quest of desires, which the children were offered to pass by the staff of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). No one went on the route, but everyone wanted to designate places with special power – the power of wish fulfillment. After all, each place is a small story, a small event, behind which is the fulfillment of dreams, desires and plans. All notes with wishes will be handed over to Angel Vlad, who settled in the old GUM Courtyard. He is responsible for the dreams of Vladivostok residents and guests of the city. And on their own to go along the cherished route, schoolchildren of the OC "Format" will be able already on spring holidays.

Vladimir Kozhevin, chef of Tooman Restaurant Bar, invited the guys to prepare original sandwiches. The assistant was Timothy, a student of the School of Gastronomy. Under the guidance of the chef and his apprentice, schoolchildren prepared cold snacks based on burnt bread. One of them was with a duck fillet "Confi", dried cherry tomatoes and a sauce of black fruit and black currant, the second - sweet. For its preparation, sweet vanilla curd cream, pitahaya and lemongrass sauce were used. The finished product was sprinkled with popcorn from buckwheat.

It should be noted that teenagers are a separate target audience. They will always show their confidence, but rarely admit to not knowing something, and if they do, then with a clear challenge.

" Such master classes are not only about food, about the popularization of the profession, it is also an exchange of emotions. And when we learn to give each other only positive emotions, then our life, at least, will become better. My profession, my vocation, is not only to cook deliciously, but also to convey those very positive emotions, perhaps to return us to childhood. Communication with teenagers is the motivation to do something better, more interesting. And I'm happy, I'm happy. And I came to the profession thanks to these feelings, which I felt at the age of 13, – shares his thoughts Vladimir Kozhevin.

Future catering representative Timothy looks at the lessons from a slightly different angle. By age, he left near the students, but a little experience gives him some confidence.

"Since my admission to the School of Gastronomy, I feel that I have grown as a cook, I already have knowledge: I have learned various French cuttings, methods of cooking various dishes. But I'm still learning. This is a profession where we are constantly learning. New products, new technologies, recipes. We often participate in master classes with different chefs, we constantly have practical classes, where they give a lot of new information. And this is very interesting, says a student of the School of Gastronomy.

Teenagers were delighted with the format of “work lessons”, and the unusual combination of products and taste, and the very process of communicating with the chef and his assistant. Everyone is sure that after such a lesson, their gastronomic luggage became much richer, it will be something to surprise both parents and peers

"I really liked the master class, it is very diverse our usual school life. I often cook at home, and my parents always appreciate my efforts and ideas. This workshop will help to diversify my recipes. We even got a little creative by slightly changing the sauce of the second, sweet sandwich. Added a drop of the first sauce and it turned out just great, says 15-year-old Nastya.

That lesson was very cool. A lot of impressions. I rarely cook at home, but I experiment. I wanted to be a chef or pastry chef. And even almost six months went to some master classes. Now I think that this lesson was not in vain: after all, I want to become a cook. That's cool! And I am sure that these recipes will play an important role in the final decision-making, says the 14-year-old Liza.

In the final part of the master class, students were presented with new patriotic routes in Vladivostok and the Khasan municipal district, developed for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Recall that the project to conduct gastro lessons in schools of Vladivostok was launched in 2023-2024 academic grounds. It was organized by the Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) together with the Department for Work with Municipal Education Institutions of Vladivostok. In the academic year 2024-2025, the project is already being implemented in the district schools of the region.
