Primorsky Krai won the award "The Best Start of the Gastronomy Program" at the international exhibition-forum "Russia", which takes place at VDNKh.
The award from the hands of the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Exhibition, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko in a solemn atmosphere on Wednesday, May 15, received Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government Alexei Nazdratenko. Sergey Kiriyenko noted the merits of the regional teams in creating and updating the exhibition.
The burning eyes of visitors are your merit. In order to convey a dream, you have to dream yourself. And to convey a sense of pride, you have to be proud. And I want to thank you very much: you give this exhibition your heart and soul. Your teams have conveyed to millions of visitors their love for the region. And even those people who have never been to your regions before come out in love and dream to visit it. This is incredibly important, stressed Sergey Kiriyenko.
As specified in the Tourist Information Center of the region, the victory in the nomination "The best start of the gastronomic program" was preceded by a long and painstaking work. So, from November 2023 to May 2024, a team of seaside chefs in the House of Russian cuisine at the exhibition “Russia” was able to demonstrate the entire gastronomic potential of the region. According to experts, it all began in November last year, when a general presentation of the gastronomic potential of the region took place within the framework of the Day of Primorsky Krai. Then in December, the Far Eastern New Year table was presented here. On the eve of the New Year holidays, the guests of the exhibition under the strict guidance of the master of the author’s Far Eastern cuisine and the brand chef of the famous Vladivostok restaurant prepared he from tuna. Everyone was also able to get acquainted with the Far Eastern trepang and tried to prepare it. In addition, the masters prepared tea from taiga herbs, sbiten from a set of various spices and Far Eastern cocoa according to a special recipe.
In January, a presentation of regional dishes of the gastronomic festival dedicated to the Day of the Far East and the Arctic was prepared for visitors to the exhibition. In February, the gastronomic potential of the region was presented in the framework of the seaside festival "Five seas, three oceans". In March, a real furor made festival "O! Mega Taste!, designed to reveal the gastronomic potential of wild white fish. In June, within the framework of the Russian tourist forum "Travel!", the House of Russian cuisine will host a presentation of the gastronomic festival "On the Grebna", dedicated to one of the most exquisite delicacies - sea scallop. The organizers of the work on the disclosure of the gastronomic potential of the region are the Tourist Information Center of Primorye (Visit Primorye) headed by Director Olga Gurevich, the group of the project “Gastronomic Map of Russia” and its author-methodist Ekaterina Shapovalova, as well as the group of projects “Zuma”, “Millionka”, “Caffe in Meat”, “Kantina”, “Coffee Machine”, “Shell”, “Sisters Kim”, “Nerest” and “Aquatoria”. The Tourist and Information Center of Primorye together with the best chefs of Vladivostok held the most educational gastronomic performances in the House of Russian Cuisine. Thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital tasted unique seaside products for the first time. Far Eastern cuisine is one of the basic tourist attractions of the Far East, emphasized Ekaterina Shapovalova.
