The project “Striped Navigator” brought Primorye to the final of the “Tourism of the Future” award

In the top three leaders in the nomination "Regions of Russia". The best practices of sustainable tourism in Russia entered Primorsky Krai. The region submitted tourist-volunteer project "Striped Navigator".

In total, more than 50 applications were submitted from all over the country, these projects can become landmarks for the entire tourism industry. The evaluation of the works was carried out according to the following criteria: combination and successful implementation of innovations, environmental, social responsibility and preservation of cultural heritage. The main objective of the award is the development of the tourism industry with an emphasis on respect for nature, culture and the original appearance of the regions.

The meeting of the organizer of the award Victoria Degtyareva and the team of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) took place in Moscow at the Forum-exhibition "Travel!" in June of this year. Then the colleagues exchanged experience in the development of tourism on the principles of environmental friendliness and a conscious approach. The meeting also raised issues on the experience and implementation of the approach to work with an inclusive direction. As a result, the region was invited to participate in the competition in order to present and replicate practices for the development of sustainable tourism in the Primorsky Territory

To form a positive image of the territories as tourist destinations, participation in the competition allowed to tell about their best regional practices through sustainable development of the region, partnership and respect for natural resources. Tourist and Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) presented its author's "strong" volunteer project "Striped Navigator", which successfully combines several leading and key practices of the tourism industry. The only city tourist information service in the Far East helps to create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for tourists: volunteers, cruising along the routes of the central part of the city, help guests to navigate and plan their stay in the region. Volunteers of the project also reveal the rich ecological and recreational potential of the territory, telling about the unique and original objects of the region

Training courses are organized for project participants in order to support the culture of communication and interaction with tourists. It is very important that this project helps to replicate inclusive practices in the region - with them on the routes, in addition to the usual tourist maps of the city and the region, volunteers also take the "Accessible Vladivostok" inclusive maps. At the same time, the very name of the project "Striped Navigator" with a reference to the Amur tiger helps to preserve the value and significance of rare, red-book animals

"We decided to take part in the competition and present our vision of popularizing the territory through the prism of sustainable tourism in our region. The final of the award in the nomination of the best practices of sustainable tourism was a pleasant surprise for us. The Striped Navigator project is a bright brand of our organization. It is pleasant that the expert council noted the results of its six-year work at such a high level, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourist and Information Department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) about participation in the award .
