Taste of unity: children of Vladivostok baked pancakes for the holiday

On the eve of the Day of National Unity, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) together with the National Center "Russia" in the Primorsky Territory and the network of family cafes "Omlet Station" held a children's gastronomic master class on making pancakes at school No6 Vladivostok for children attending school camp during the holidays.

The Day of National Unity is a holiday designed to remind of common roots, values and culture, and what can be better for unity than joint creativity and meal? Representatives of more than 150 nationalities live in Primorye. Everyone has their own customs, traditions and recipes. The main theme of the culinary occupation was chosen not by chance: pancake is a symbol of unity, well-being, family foundations and hospitality. In Mordovia prepare pachata, in Udmurtia bake tabani, openwork yeast pancakes tabikmek are prepared by Tatar hostess, in Ossetia on certain days bake lauyzty (the modified word "lavash" is fundamentally guessed), commanmela is the kitchen of Mari El, and in Chuvashii cook ikerchi. By the way, representatives of these peoples live in Primorye. And pancakes are the symbol of the sun. And where but the east of the country does it rise first? Under the guidance of experienced mentors from the Omlet Station cafe chain, young cooks learned how to properly bake pancakes and serve them with cottage cheese cream and jam from local wild plants.
