Scallop festival "On the Crest!"

Scallop Festival in Vladivostok
Street scallop festival "On the Ridge!" has already become a delicious brand of the city. The idea behind the festival was the pan-Asian restaurant Zuma, which since 2018 has been holding a restaurant part of the festival every year, and the first street part was held in the summer of 2022. Then it was organized by the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye), a pan-Asian restaurant Zuma with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorsky Territory (at that time - the Primorsky Territory Tourism Agency) and the administration of Vladivostok.
The tone of the festival is set by a scallop - one of the most popular types of Far Eastern seafood. Scallop has long been considered a delicacy, and now has become one of the hallmarks of the Far East. The event is aimed at the development of gastronomic tourism in the Far East, the popularization and research of local seaside product and its combination with products and methods of preparation, traditional in other regions.
The program of the festival scallop
Traditionally, restaurants and cafes of Vladivostok take part in the street festival, giving free rein to imagination and surprising guests with new combinations and tastes. Vladivostok is a fusion of Europe and Asia, so it is not surprising that all dishes have their own specifics: tom-yam and khinkali with scallop, skewers and scallops, scallop talk and even ice cream!
In addition to gastronomy, the program of the event includes children's master classes, creative workshops, various quests and battles, performances of creative teams of Vladivostok and much more.
The results of the gas festival "On the Ridge!"
In 2024, the festival "On the Ridge!" was held as part of the celebration of Youth Day and Week in the Youth Capital. More than 20 thousand people visited the site of the gastro festival, almost 18 thousand meals and 10.5 thousand drinks were sold. Chefs of restaurants and cafes of Vladivostok held 8 gastronomic master classes, and also prepared 4 huge pans of chatter with a scallop: it took 20 kilograms of scallop and 164 eggs for each pan. Not without records: for 5 minutes, 4,540 khinkali with a scallop were made. The record was recorded by an expert of the Book of Records of Russia, who specially arrived in Vladivostok.
We note that the project "Youth Day and Week in the Youth Capital" received the Grand Prix in the nomination "Best Youth Tourist Event" at the XIII International Prize in the field of event tourism (November 20-29-27)
