Monument to V.K. Arsenyev

The monument to V.K. Arsenyev in the park in Arsenyev is a landmark point of the city walk. On the open area at the slope of the hill Uvalny stands a tall figure of a traveler and writer, a researcher of the Ussuri taiga; behind him is a large rock bas-relief portrait. The composition was opened in 1972, on the centenary of Arsenyev’s birth, and today a convenient public area with an amphitheatre and trails is arranged around it.
It's a great place to take a break, sit on the steps, admire the panorama of Arsenyev, and recall stories from Dersu Uzala. The place is open year-round: during the day, it's quiet and green, while at sunset, there are beautiful views and light for photographs.
For visitors to the city, this is a simple way to say hello to the man whose name the entire region lives by.
