All the graves (except the burial of Fridolf Huck, which was moved to the Marine Cemetery) on the territory of the present park were leveled to the ground. In Soviet times, the park had a shooting range, attractions, a dance platform, a Ferris wheel, sculptures of pioneers and athletes, and the park itself was called "Gorky PKiO".
