2018Gastronomic festival of mussels in Primorye
One of the main gastronomic holidays of spring! This festival waits a whole year to enjoy the rich taste of Pacific mussels.
During the festival, establishments of the Primorsky Territory offer guests Pacific mussels in a variety of sauces at a single price of 660 цене for all participants, as well as a lot of other dishes around mussels.
The festival was first held in 2018, and since then the festival has become one of the favorite gastronomic holidays of residents and guests of the region. In an attempt to reveal the full culinary potential of the popular clam, the organizers and chefs try to surprise the public with unusual taste interpretations. In different years, guests were offered mussels in condensed sauce, donuts, pate, cream soups and rolls with mussels. The favorites of the menu are usually more traditional dishes: fresh mussels in creamy, Thai sauces and garlic-based sauce.
The festival not only pleases citizens and attracts foreign tourists to the region (in Asian countries, a special attitude to sea delicacies), but also forms a community of cooks and fans of Far Eastern cuisine.
History of the Mussel Festival
Since 2019, the festival has hosted a large gastronomic festival "Midiya Summit", which in 2022 went beyond the event dedicated to a seasonal product and became a cross-cultural event that glorifies and explores Far Eastern identity through gastronomy, music and modern art.
In 2024, the holiday was transformed into a large street culture festival called "MAY" and acquired international status.
