The Transfiguration Cathedral in Vladivostok was built in 2023, becoming the youngest and largest temple in Primorye. The idea of its construction arose at the beginning of the XX century, but it was possible to realize it only a century later.

The place for the cathedral was consecrated by Patriarch Alexy II in 2000, and the project itself was developed by architects Alexander Kotlyarov and Vladimir Chirtic. Its construction took more than 20 years.

The 67-meter-high cathedral can accommodate up to 2,000 parishioners. It is located on the site where in 1860 the detachment of ensign Komarov landed, which is considered the beginning of the history of the city.
