Pushkinskaya Street is one of the most atmospheric streets of Vladivostok, where buildings built in the XIX - early XX century have been preserved. It runs parallel to Svetlanskaya Street and is a real open-air museum. Here you can see ancient mansions, buildings of the first educational institutions of the city and even a house associated with the family of Alexander Pushkin.
Walking around Pushkin, you will meet the Evangelical-Lutheran Church, the famous Pushkin Theater, the buildings of the Far Eastern Federal University and buildings built by outstanding architects of their time. This street has preserved not only the architectural heritage, but also the spirit of past eras, making it one of the most interesting for walking in the historical part of the city.
Homes with history on Pushkinskaya Street
One of the most famous buildings on Pushkinskaya Street is the Sollogub House - the first stone building in Vladivostok, built in 1882. In different years, the newspaper "Vladivostok" and private property of urban entrepreneurs were located here.
> No less interesting is the mansion on Pushkinskaya, 19, known as the building of the former Chinese Consulate. A diplomatic mission worked here from 1916 to 1954, and later the building became a correctional school.
The main cultural center of the street is the Pushkin Theater, built in 1908. At different times, Vladimir Vysotsky, Alexander Vertinsky and many other celebrities performed on his stage. Near the theater is the lower station of the funicular, which connects Pushkinskaya Street with the top of the hill.
