Dardanelles Gorge (Dardanella Cheeks)

Height above sea level: 150 meters. The name was not accidental: according to legend, more than a hundred years ago it was given by two partisans who fought with the White Guards. They considered that the valley is as difficult to pass as the Dardanelles Strait, which divides Europe and Asia

The slopes of the gorge are stony, and the rocks are pointed. They look like castle watchtowers. The length of the gorge is about 14 kilometers, and the height above sea level is 150 meters. On top of one of the rocks there is a bridge, which offers an amazing view of the valley of the Tigrovaya River, where tourists love to take pictures. It is not safe to approach the edge of the bridge: a strong wind blows on the bridge, and it is dangerous for life.
The hiking route (about 5 kilometers long) along the gorge usually begins from the bridge over the Tigrovaya River from the village of Brovnichi. In spring, rhododendron blooms on the slopes of the gorge. The route is long and sometimes difficult because of the pouch - large, moving stones on some climbs. At the same time, it is under the power of almost any person, and all the difficulties are compensated by the stunning view of the gorge and the purple “clouds” of the blooming rhododendron.
