Today it is the only corner of the pristine forest in the city with giant whole-leaved fir (up to 30 meters high), Korean pine trees (popularly called cedars) and many types of maples. Thanks to the reserve regime, a rich flora and fauna has been preserved here.

The main types of forest in the territory of the botanical garden are broad-leaved whole-leaved fir, fir-cedar forest and multi-species broad-leaved forests dominated by Mongolian oak. You can get acquainted with the indigenous inhabitants of the Ussuri taiga in detail by walking along the ecological trail or by exposition of natural flora.
