The house of the traveler Arsenyev in Vladivostok

The house of the traveler Arsenyev, or the Memorial House-Museum of V.K. Arsenyev is the only surviving house in Russia where an outstanding writer, scientist, researcher, a man of state thinking and duty lived and worked. Thanks to his works in a variety of scientific fields (geology, geography, toponymy, cartography, biology, archaeology, ethnography, history), the distant and unknown Ussuri region was opened to the world.

Filling the "white spots" on geographical, ethnographic and other maps, Arsenyev not only solved the pressing tasks of the development of the territory, but also created a complete picture of the life of the region in his scientific and artistic works - "In the Sikhothot-align:" then Fyotov-Azdorovskaya style /textov, which belonged to Domu /textov; Fyev: The Arsenyev family moved into apartment No. 4 on the second floor in June 1928. Vladimir Arseniev lived here until his death in 1930, his wife Margarita Nikolaevna - until his arrest in 1937, and daughter Natasha - until his arrest in 1941. Since 1945, the street on which the house is located has been named after V.K. Arsenyev. The building was transferred to the museum in 1997.

The location of the rooms in the apartment has been preserved as Vladimir Arsenyev knew it. In the study and living room, furniture and household items are arranged as it was during the life of the traveler, and an expedition hall was created instead of a bedroom and a nursery. The expositions present many unique items, as well as information about the Arsenyev family, the work of Vladimir Klavdievich and his research.

Photos for the section are provided by the Museum-Reserve of the History of the Far East named after V.K. Arsenyev.
