Smelt Festival in Primorsky Krai
Smelt is one of the iconic products of Primorsky Krai, this fish is known and appreciated throughout the country. And in Dalnegorsk dedicated a whole festival! This is the same fish that smells like cucumbers, gives absolute scope for imagination in cooking (it can hardly be spoiled) and is extremely tasty. But the most delicious smelt is the usual roast.
>History of the smelt gastro festival
In 2022, the first "Smelt Festival" (0+) was held in Dalgorsk. It was organized by the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye), the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorsky Territory (at that time - the Tourism Agency of the Primorsky Territory) and the administration of the Dalnegorsk municipal district. And now for 4 years at the end of February, residents and guests of the region come to Dalnegorsk to fully feel the spirit of excitement and creative rivalry. The program of the festival announced competitions in sports ice fishing and gastronomic festival.

The smelt does not lose its popularity, and each time the gastronomic part surprises with its delicious variety, originality in the presentation of dishes and creativity of the festival participants. Dalnegrians always demonstrate enviable creativity in this truly creative process: fry, soar, marinate, bake... Sharing recipes and technologies is #1. Therefore, gastronomic master classes are held on the festive site.
> But it is not limited to one food: the thematic, sports and play zones work at the festival, and creative teams and performers perform on the stage. No one leaves the holiday hungry and sad.
Our key is becoming a platform of attraction, an attractive holiday destination regardless of the season. Such festivals emphasize family traditions, create conditions for families to relax: people of all ages are on the site, and they are not outside observers, but active participants in the holiday. It is very pleasant that such events from one-time to the category of permanent, they form the traditions of our city. In order for the holiday to turn out, enthusiasts, authorities, representatives of SMEs, the regional Tourist Information Center unite their efforts. And it is very important that the result lies much further than the festival: we can all make our city more comfortable and attractive for local residents and for guests, - emphasizes the importance of the event Head of the Dalnegorsk GO District Alexander Terebilov.
> In 2025, almost 2,400 people became guests of the festival in Dalnegorsk, which is 20% more than a year ago. So the popularity and attractiveness of the holiday and the site is obvious: a year ago about two thousand people were interested in the fishing event
