Cloud Mountain

Cloud Mountain is the highest peak of the Southern Ridge of Sikhote-Alin of the Primorsky Territory
Cloud Mountain is located in Chuguevsky Municipal District on the territory of the National Park "Call of the Tiger". It is considered one of the most picturesque peaks of the region and attracts mountain hikers. The height of Cloud is 1,854 meters, which makes it the highest peak of South Sikhote-Alin and the second highest in Primorye after Mount Anik.
As tourists climb, they pass through several natural zones: from mixed forest to coniferous thickets, then to "Alpine" meadows and finally find themselves on a stony plateau covered with dense cedar stlanica. The top of the mountain is a flat platform with an Olympic torch installed - a symbolic sign left here by athletes. From the Cloud opens breathtaking panoramas of the vast expanses of the taiga, mountain ranges and valleys.

Legends of Cloud Mountain
Cloud, like Mount Pidan, embraces an aura of mystical mysteries and riddles. According to one of the legends, it is here, in the spurs of Sikhote-Alin, you can, if you are lucky, meet a flying man, described in the diaries of the famous explorer of the Primorsky Territory V. K. Arsenyev.
The best time to visit the Cloud Mountain
The best time for hiking to the Cloud Mountain is from summer to early autumn. The summer months provide comfortable weather for a long ascent, and the autumn period gives bright colors of the taiga, creating incredible views for photos. In this season, the climb is the safest, since the trails are free of snow and the weather conditions are relatively stable.
In winter, the mountain becomes a test even for trained tourists. The climb can take more than seven hours, and the temperature at the summit often drops below -30°C. In combination with strong winds and snowfall, conditions become extreme, so a winter hike is only possible for experienced travelers with reliable equipment.
