Sculpture “Going to the shore of Katyusha”

Certificate about the sculpture "Going to the shore of Katyusha" in Vladivostok
The sculpture "Going to the shore of Katyusha" in Vladivostok was installed in honor of one of the most famous songs in the history of Russia. According to historians, the prototype of the heroine could be Ekaterina Filippova, a native of Vladivostok, whose life was filled with love for music and the Motherland.
Catherine, marrying a border guard captain, returned to Primorye and together with her husband participated in the battles near Lake Khasan in 1938. Her image became a symbol of courage and devotion, which inspired the creators of the sculpture. The sculptural image of Katyusha was selected during the city competition in 2013. Today “Going to the shore of Katyusha” in Vladivostok is not only a monument to the song, but also a reminder of the heroic pages of the history of the city and its inhabitants.
