Sopka Burachka is the brightest peak of Vladivostok

Vladivostok has one distinctive feature (in fact, not one) - the city stands firmly on the hills and gives you the opportunity to look at it from a different angle. And more precisely from a bird's eye view.

Sopka Burachka is the brightest peak of the city, equipped with pedestrian bridges. And it is bright due to the red tracks, which well look very photogenic in the camera of your smartphone.

Many bays, capes, islands in the Primorsky Territory are named after seafarers, discoverers of these places and the first mayors. So the hill, popularly called Dvuhorboy, and Sedlova, and Dunkin navel, received its name in honor of Evgeny Stepanovich Burachka, the first commander of the military port of Vladivostok.

The height of the hill is 138 meters. With its bald cone-shaped top, the hill remotely resembles a volcano. Although in fact Burachka has two peaks - hence the nicknames "Two-humped" and "Saddle".

Mesmerizing views from Burachka hill

Sopka Burachka is located from the Churkin district (orientation - school No59 on Tereshkova Street, 25). You can come by private transport or taxi. There is a small parking lot here. The first thing you will find on the way is the water tower, which is very organically integrated into the architecture. From it, we walk along a red metal equipped trail, stopping to explore the sleeping areas of the city. At the top you will get a very romantic look. The city can be seen on all 4 sides, it seems to be spread out on the palm of the hand for impressed visitors. From here you can see the Golden Bridge, which connected the two parts of the city, the whole street Svetlanskaya, which will take you to the area of Lugova (to the right of the bridge, at the end of the Golden Horn Bay). If you stand sideways to the Golden Bridge, you can see the Russian Island and the pylons of the giant bridge of the same name. And, of course, the closest you can see the Churkin district itself, which until recently was a dark spot on the city map.

What you didn't know about Burachka's hill

In the mid-90s of the last century, the territory of the hill was declared a recreational zone. But, despite this, they took a rock from there, destroying the sight. For the fate of the hill actively fought local residents. An important role in the improvement of the hill was played by a full member of the Society for the Study of the Amur Territory Georgy Trusenev. For several years he planted on the hill about 400 ornamental trees, 70 species of shrubs and several dozen perennial flowering plants of the Ussuri taiga, including the red book.

In 2021, improvement work began on the hill. There were viewing areas, a convenient staircase, paths and benches. The area near the abandoned water tower was ennobled. The workers managed to preserve the unique hill plants. The new attraction instantly became popular among residents and guests of the city, because from the top of the hill there is a panoramic view of the whole of Vladivostok. Here come to admire the dawns and sunsets.
