Memorial complex "Voroshilov Battery"

Voroshilov Battery - Coast Tower Battery No. 981. Klim Voroshilov with a caliber of 305 mm. Under each of the two towers there are underground residential, technical premises and ammunition warehouses, only 3 floors. The towers are connected to each other through a deep laying poster with a length of 250 m.
Voroshilov battery is one of the unique fortifications in the world. The coastal battery is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The decision to build it was made in the spring of 1931. The next two years were spent only on rock and underground work. Towers and trunks were delivered to the island by sea, and then by specially built railway. The first tower was completed on February 1, 1934, and the second on April 1, 1934.
During the reform of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 1997, the battery as a combat unit was disbanded, and on its basis since 1998, a branch of the Military Historical Museum of the Pacific Fleet "Voroshilov Battery" was created
