Svyato-Seraphimovsky Monastery on Russky Island was founded in 2001 on the site of the former regimental church, which before the revolution was located in barracks. In Soviet times, the building was used as a club for sailors.
In 2000, a parish was created here, and in 2001 it was transformed into a monastery. Today, the monastery includes a temple, a cell building, workshops, a hotel for pilgrims and a refectory.

The St. Seraphim Monastery on Russky Island is the only island monastery in the Far East. It was built of brick from the old barracks that remained after a fire in the 1990s. Monks lead a fully autonomous economy, including their own farm and apiary.

The feasts associated with St. Seraphim of Sarov are celebrated especially solemnly in the monastery: January 15 (the Relic) and August 1 (the Relic). These days, special services and prayers are held that create a unique spiritual atmosphere.

To get to the monastery by car, drive from the city over the bridge to Russky Island, then follow the main road towards the village of Podnozh'e. Drive past the FEFU campus and continue following the signs to the village. You can also get to the St. Seraphim Monastery by direct bus №29, which departs from the stop "TC Izumrud".
