“Cheremshy season” – taste spring in Vladivostok

Vladivostok is a city of multifaceted gastronomy, a mix of tastes and recipes of sea and taiga gifts, countries of Europe and Asia. One delicious festival follows another. Here at the start of another gastro event - the festival of garlic (0+). It takes place in the restaurants of the Far Eastern capital from April 21 to May 4.

Cheremsha is the earliest spring greens, a storehouse of vitamins. Broke, it makes everything around smell garlic. This hunting or bear onion, wild garlic or just a flask (the names of garlic are a lot) can be found in Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkey. And, although this is not a specialty of the Far East, but, perhaps, only in the east of Russia, this herb is "sung" by real gastronomic hymns. Local housewives and chefs in restaurants are ready to compete with anyone in a variety of recipes with garlic. Believe me, it’s not just snacks and salads. It has already come to sauces, desserts, pastries and drinks.

The festival "Cheremshi Season" takes place from April 21 to May 4 inclusive - chefs believe that it is in this short period that garlic reaches its peak, brightest taste. Representatives of the gastronomic community treat this wildflower with obvious piety. And when cooking, its useful properties are brought to the main positions. By the way, cherry is not accidentally called “spring vitamin battery”.
